My name is Sarah and I was born in Germany. Part of my childhood I spent in the Netherlands. Since a couple of years, I live in Buenos Aires, studying and working.

I love reading (above all science fiction and fiction -- recently I have been reading Murakami's novels), photographing and getting to know other people and cultures (I had really amusing moments after moving from Germany to Argentina and keep on learning new things :o) ).

In my free time I like to meet up with friends and to discover new streets and parts of Buenos Aires by bike, a city that never sleeps and never ceases to fascinate me.

I am a tranquil person, maybe at the beginning I am a little shy, but I loosen up quickly.

Of what consists a land? Of its people! I would be really glad to share experiences, interchange ideas and opinions and enrich eachother.

I would love to host you and show you around Buenos Aires :)! As I have a job I won't be able to be there for you 24 hs/weekday, but over the weekend I`m free and I am very sure we will find some time to share.

Interests

Since ca. 7 months I have been studying japanese. Not only the language itself is enchanting to me (my favourite Kanji is 雨 "rain" - doesn't it look a bit like a window with raindrops on it?), also Japan's ancient culture is rich of magic (Kabuki, Shodou).

I know the ways of a language are long and never ending: I am doing my best to master a bit more of that beautiful, complex and fascinating language day by day. がまん--- がんばります！

Music, Movies, and Books

Concerning music I am really open minded and listen to many different genres (from Bach / classical to Jpop, german popular music, indie, rock (e.g. Mr. Brightside :-) )...).

In reference to books, one of my recent favourites is "Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage" from Murakami, Haruki! Next are "The Swarm" by Frank Schätzing and many stories of argentine novelist Julio Cortázar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It was really hard for me to learn spanish at first! I got into an argentine school without knowing anything - and now, a few years later, I am studying Spanish-German translation at an argentine university without (too serious) problems. When I look back to where I was then (I really grew a lot as a person learning from others, I think. Therefore I am really grateful) and where I am now, I feel really glad. Of course, I have yet a long way to go. Language is a study that never ends (but which one does, right?).
