About Me

Hi everyone! I'm Sarah, PhD student from Germany. I grew up in Cologne and I'm currently living in Tübingen, a small beautiful town in the southwest of Germany. I am looking forward to applying my knowledge from my studies towards a more sustainable industry.
I am a very talkative, fun, slightly crazy and open minded person, love to laugh and get to know new people. I enjoy spending time with friends, going to concerts and festivals or just hang out in parks drinking a few beers. I like cooking and baking, because it relaxes me. I also like going to the gym, bouldering with friends and contemporary dance. Hiking and wandering to nature is also something that I am really enjoy. Since the beginning of this year, I am involved in Viva Con Agua (https://www.vivaconagua.org/), a non-profit organisation, commited to establish access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation for all humans worldwide. Growing up in Germany with a loving family, these thinks appear 'normal' and therefore I am happy I can contribute to improving the situation for others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I will be travelling alone most of the time, I am hoping I can get to know locals and other travellers in my destinations.

Right now, I live in a shared flat with three roommates. Unfortunately I don't have a couch, so I am not able to host anyone for the time being. As soon as that changes, I will also be happy to host visitors and show them around.

Music, Movies, and Books

There is literally NO day, that I am not listening to music. I like different genres, but I think it's save to say I like HipHop and Rap most. But I also really like a more relaxed sound like The XX for example.
One of my favourite books is definitely the Harry Potter series. From time to time I listen to all the audiobooks while working etc. I also love reading travel guide book to get inspired for future trips. On the other hand, I really like reading thrillers. Even though I loved reading books like 'The Silence of the Lambs' or 'The Chemistry of Death', movies like that scare me so much I could never watch them alone :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sitting on the edge of a cliff and looking down into the valley at Seoraksan National Park and staying at a buddhist temple in South Korea.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm super curios to learn more about different cultures, habits, foods, religion and nature in places I don't now yet.
