About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Someday is today.
ABOUT ME
I see myself as a friendly, outgoing person. I seem much younger than my actual age. I am the older woman at the happy hour, checking in with the next table just asking if everyone is having fun. I will talk to you while you are hiking on the trail, on the chair lift at the ski area, at the gym if we haven't yet met, or even while waiting for any appointment. I am the one that the stranger will ask for directions, even when there are other people around. I am on a mission to do all those things that I said...someday. Couch Surfing is one of those things. Someday is today.
PHILOSOPHY
I hope to get back what I put out there. Smiling costs nothing and the returns are amazingly great.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing and hosting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have surfed and I am looking to host. It has been good.
Interests
I like to ski, hike, backpack, travel on a budget, see places I have not seen before, meet new people, learn about other cultures, try new food. I like to cook, work in my yard and live simply. I love dogs, but do not have one so I dog sit for my traveling friends. I like happy hour on Friday nights, live music, dive bars, and dancing. I have a generally good disposition and have found very few people that I don't like.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie is "Princess Bride". I know, it is an old one, but I haven't spent much of the last decade keeping up on the videos. I love any music in a live venue, no matter what the genre. And give me fiction any day of the week.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have rafted the Grand Canyon 3 times, and one of the times I was in the canyon I saw an incredible meteor that was brilliant blue and turquoise and green. Sadly, words can't describe how beautiful it was.
Teach, Learn, Share
My 95 year old father taught me how to make waffles. I can teach you. I can also teach you how to make the best homemade salsa (I love it when people tell me they still make "Sarah's Salsa"). I am finally learning to play the guitar, I want to learn how to overcome my fear of traveling alone, learn to speak Spanish, how to make a great paella, change the oil in my car and cook Indian food. I want to share my view of how resilient we all are. I believe that is what makes us get up every day and think, "wow, it's a new day. I am going to breathe my way through it!"
