Hi there! I’m Sayyidatul Imamah, but you can call me Dayu. I’m a graduate student living in New York City, originally from a small village in Indonesia. Growing up surrounded by nature and family values taught me to appreciate simple joys, the beauty of the outdoors, and the importance of gratitude.

I’m a passionate reader, writer, and editor who loves all things creative. My interests range from literature and publishing to contemporary fiction and hiking. I’ve published several books, worked as an editor for years, and have a knack for connecting people through meaningful conversations and shared experiences.

Music: Lately, I’ve been loving The Marias. Their sound is so dreamy and perfect for setting a relaxing mood.

Movies: I’m a big fan of horror movies! My top two favorites are When Evil Lurks and Suspiria. I love the thrill and artistry of a well-crafted scare.

Books: Literature holds a special place in my heart. I adore books that explore deep, meaningful themes, and my favorite author is Sigrid Nunez. Her work always leaves me inspired and thoughtful.

I moved to New York City all by myself to pursue my master’s degree! It’s been an incredible journey of personal growth, stepping out of my comfort zone, and chasing my dreams.

While I’m not much of a cook (I’m still working on that skill!), I bring plenty of other things to the table! I’d love to share stories about my journey from a small village in Indonesia to pursuing my MS in Publishing at NYU in New York City. I can also offer insights into Indonesian culture, literature, and the publishing world.

I’m a huge nature lover and enjoy hiking, but I also appreciate the energy and excitement of exploring a city. I’m a good listener and would love to hear about your experiences too. If our schedules align, I might even treat you to dinner as a thank-you.
