ABOUT ME I'm a major in Russian History in New Mexico, the daughter of a historian and part of a family that considers history to be a generally important things. My life is spent reading, creating and chilling with my parrot, a six year old cockatiel named Judah who makes my life difficult and joyful, often at the same time. The most amazing thing is simple: The times when I have watched my parrot and been able to almost SEE his brain working, figuring out a complex problem and stomping on the idea that humans are the only intelligent creatures!

I love reading! Everything from Norm Ornstein to Neil Gaiman and things in between. If it's interesting, I'll read it. Activism as well, though that's vague; I tend to be active in free-speech issues and human rights, particularly in relation to North Korea.
