About Me

I am a musician and music lover - I went to university to study jazz guitar and I love all things music. I play at a professional level and would be so happy to play a song or two for you :) I do a lot of teaching, whether it be music, French, English, history, whatever. Teaching and learning is what it's all about!!

I love food - cooking it, eating it, finding the absolute highest-quality ingredients, exploring new foods, sharing food. I find “folk” food culture, or traditional food culture, to be so fascinating and I always want to taste the local traditional foods. I'm really into coffee and enjoy roasting my own coffee.

My wife, Savannah, our cat, Ella, and I are currently living in France in a village called Rosans after living in Boston for 4 years. We love the mountains, nature, basking in the Mediterranean sun, you name it :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and I think that CS is the best way to experience a new place. I traveled for a few weeks in western Europe using CouchSurfing - I had such an amazing experience and met some really wonderful folks. Staying with new people is the best way to learn new things!

Interests

I love music, listening to music, playing music, talking about music. Food is a huge passion in my life; cooking, eating, delving into "fine" foods like wine / beer, cheese, coffee, etc, and the "dinner hang"(the ultimate social experience!). I really love to teach and learn, especially with new people and new situations. I love languages and can speak French pretty well. Discussions are always great but I don't consider myself to be the most talkative person out there - I always prefer a 4-person get-together over a party.
