I am 41 years old and live in California - SF Bay Area. I enjoy creative endeavors, basketball, and movies, and I collect license plates. I have an appreciation for nature, animals, and youth. I have worked in education primarily but also would like to grow a side career in writing (to one day being a career change).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am planning a cross-country trip to commence in April '17. I have not figured out all the details but I heard of Couchsurfing from Nomadic Matt (website) and think it might be a viable option. I rent, so I am unable to host, but I think this is a great idea.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - singer-songwriters of the 70s and 80s, Classical, Jazz, New Age, 80s pop.

Movies - Too many to mention! But my top films from 2016-14 are Carol, Boyhood, and Captain Phillips. I generally like indies, dramas, comedies, and documentaries best.

Books - Again a long list. Roald Dahl and John Steinbeck are 2 of my original favorite authors. A book which was a huge inspiration to plan this trip is Blue Highways.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not sure yet. I like to use my creativity (with cards or homemade gifts of some kind), or something simple like flowers are nice. I will need to learn more about this interesting world of Couchsurfing.
