Overview
About Me
A quick digest of who is me:
-I use they pronouns
-I'm a community organizer passionate about working for social justice across intersectional issues. I work at racial justice organization Color Of Change and also do abolition organizing in Washington, DC where I live now.
-I'm a journalist who loves making videos about activism, social issues, and the environment. I've worked on films on police brutality in Chicago, youth climate activists from Malaysia, and a murder investigation in Argentina
-I'm a cook who loves experimenting with any and all cuisines, especially anything that includes homemade bread, lots of vegetables (I'm vegetarian except when I'm abroad), and desserts
-I'm a co-op liver who's made my home in cooperative houses in DC, Brooklyn and Chicago, where I cooked, cuddled and built community with anywhere from 3 to 16 people at a time
-I'm a bunch of other things too: saxophone player, writer, exerciser, yogi, Jew, inopportune sleeper, etc. Ask me more and I'm sure to tell; I'm a sharer too
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm amping up my traveling recently, and my favorite way to travel is the opposite of what they show you in airplane magazines. I like to explore places as their residents experience them, and build community and relationships as much as humanly possible. So if couchsurfing isn't the way to do that, I don't know what is.
