PHILOSOPHY
A boat is safe in a harbor, but that isn't what a boat is for.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
started on a trip to Maui..didn't need a place to stay, but went on CouchSurfing hoping to meet some interesting, fun, knowledgeable locals for coffee, local events, a walk and a chat... And I surf. I wanted to have someone to surf with. Was such a great experience, I wanted to extend the same vibe and local knowledge to others...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Minimal, but I've traveled extensively and have unofficially couch surfed (and hammock surfed, cave surfed and tree house surfed) and have also hosted many travelers I've met along the way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ate a hard boiled egg and coffee cooked by my 12 year old (!!) guide on a steam vent on top of an active volcano in Indonesia. Best tasting egg ever!
...oh there are many good travel stories...
survived a knife in the head, heard the teachings of the Dalai Lama in Dharmsala India.. want to hear yours too.
