About Me

I was born and raised in Toulouse, a city in the South-West of France, and since then have lived in Paris, Philadelphia, and Boston. I work as a research scientist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and have many more interests beyond science. An old-time couchsurfer, I haven't been here much in many years but would like to be part again of this wonderful community. Unfortunately, I currently live in a small studio and don't have enough room for guests but hope this will change in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing because it embodies values that are dear to me, among which the idea that traveling should be accessible to everyone and allow to encounter people from different ways of life.

Interests

I am happier when I learn and teach, feel part of a community, and can immerse myself in arts or nature. I have been dancing socially for many years, mostly lindy-hop but also, previously, tango and salsa. I play saxophone and love jazz, as well as many other musical styles from around the world. I love city life for its architecture, going to theatres, cinemas, and museums, dancing, and meeting new people. I love nature and find it through walking, contemplating water and trees, as well as in cooking and woodworking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving to a different country.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am involved as a facilitator and instructor in two organizations, P2PU Learning Circles (https://www.p2pu.org/) and The Carpentries (https://carpentries.org/). In particular, I am organizing and facilitating an introductory biology learning circle at a community lab in Boston (https://www.meetup.com/BosLab/events/past/).

I am currently learning swing dances at Hop to the Beat (https://www.hoptothebeat.com/), saxophone at John Payne Music Center (https://jpmc.us/), woodworking at the Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts (https://eliotschool.org/), and various other topics through online courses.

More generally, I dream of a society where sharing would be more common and working for the common good a financially responsible option. Fortunately, many bricks of that society already exist and I try to contribute whenever I can.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am always looking forward to interesting discussions and am happy to teach things I know.
