About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To define my life and those experiences in it however I choose.
ABOUT ME
I think my friends would say I was an amalgamation of condradictions. My personality largely depends on my mood, the company I am keeping, and the circumstance. I can be contemplative and broody but also superficial and silly. I love exploring different sides of my personality. I can enjoy playing drinking games with friends until we spout nonsense as much as enjoy watching some kind of controversial document and discussing our differing points of view regarding the subject matter. I love discussing religion, philosophy, and social psychology even if my knowledge of those areas are rudimentary at best. I love being spontaneous but I don't like surprises. I make financial projections and life plans years in advance but do not like committing to dinner plans with friends to definitively. Probably above all, I would be described as wanting to get the most out of every interaction and situation I find myself in. I covet the idea of enjoying exactly what I'm doing at that moment. I tend to ignore my phone when out with a friend. I try and forget tomorrow when I'm enjoying today.
PHILOSOPHY
Do whatever you want and don't hurt anyone.
The interpretation and application of this philosophy are less simple that the statement itself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hope to make connections with others around the world to get to know and perhaps hang out with when I decide to travel to random places on a whim.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None actually. Although I have had an experience with a close friend of mine where we spontaneously flew to the Netherlands. One hour we were sitting around thinking about how to spend the day and the next we were boarding a plane to fly across the Atlantic Ocean with just what we could stuff into our backpack. We had a nice dinner and flew back the next day.
Interests
I enjoy racquetball, jogging, exercise, sports in general, and trying new things.
I love playing poker: 4 or 5 card omaha, 7 card stud, razz, hold 'em, draw, etc.
I love experimenting with food and challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone (even if I'm not very good at it sometimes).
I enjoy reading non-fiction and engaging in conversation with other atheists or those interested in discussing religion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As a boy, I used to sit in the back seat while driving through neighborhoods at night and look for houses with lights still on. I would try and imagine what was going on in that house right at that moment. The notion that there were "others" and those "others" had lives with their own routine and what not. I yearned to be privy to the lives of "others". As I became older I would just sit and look out over a city and be awestruck by the amount of lives that were in motion completely independant of me. I knew there was more than just me and my life and honestly it made me feel small but not in a negative way. I'm not quite sure how to explain it.
I am awestruck everytime I look out somewhere and know that someone right then is getting fulfillment from their life just as much as I feel fulfilled in mine even though that persons life looks nothing like mine.
