About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I try to change work-life-balance.
ABOUT ME
I am a 57 years, tall man (6"4 / 194cm) and I am in networking/socialising with people world-wide.
I used to be board member of the National Roundtable in Switzerland (IRO and Editor in Chief) and I am still an active member of its local Club41/Oldtable in Winterthur (25), while I started the tabling in Augsburg / Bavaria in the 1990ties.
If you are a Tabler or member of any other Service Club world-wide, yourself, please do not hesitate to get in touch... By the way - have you ever tried my SERVICE-CLUB App "Fit-4-Future" (you will find it at Apple Store or Google Playstore)?! ACTIVE20-30, Apex, ClubAgora, Club41, JECC Japan, KIN, Ladies Circle, Oldtable, Roundtable, Tangent Club, Woco (with several news, Adresse and more to use).
I do love carsharing, as well: by blabla carsharing network (there is an app for all telephone/pc/mac/linux systems available).
I am quite flexible, open minded and keen to discuss any interesting topics. Some people describe me as dominant, others as around-the-corner-thinker, I do prefer to improve my empathy and eloquency, even if I am still adapting :)
PHILOSOPHY
Gemeinsam. Erstrebenswertes. Erreichen.
my GENERAL APPROACH of COUCH Surfing
1st - DO NOT PAY FOR STAYING / SET-UP - the idea of this network is to help each other by offering property which does not cost "me" extra, except for the water (showering) and meals/drinks...
2nd - I love to learn. From you. From discussions in a group or else.
I RATHER EXPECT visitors to bring some time to share with - if you are only looking for cheap accomodation, I am the wrong address.
3rd - LET's share experiences / sight-seeing: when I was younger, studying or playing Bridge abroad, I have been hosted from total strangers, but they became friends and lI do love this approach. I normally keen to offer sight-seeing / information about local area, the country and more. Please do not hesitate to raise questions. Depending on my time frame and money, I may offer to walk into some Museums - perhaps in Schaffhausen, Winterthur, Zurich, Sankt Gallen or else. We do have the Rhine (5 km from my place) Lake of Constance (Bodensee, big Lake), SÄNTIS mountain around the corner sun-bathing (perhaps FKK), the Alps (ALPEN) in short distance and even Germany for Shopping trips (if your passport or visa allows such a trip) in a 15 minutes driving distance (Singen/Hohentwiel). I do like to go for skiing / walking. Just to set-up your plans: RHINE FALL Schaffhausen and the beautiful village of Stein am Rhine is worth it...
4th - NO DRUGS / please DO NOT SMOKE WITHIN MY HOME.
But I really do not mind if you want to smoke out-side., just in front of entrance door (out side) and I do not drink much, but to share a glass of dry red wine or a beer (preferable mixed with grapefruit juice or coke in it) might be a nice idea.
5th - if you need help with public transportation, I may pick you up from railway station (Singen or Schaffhausen or Stein am Rhein) or bring you back there - but do not forget that couchsurfing is for free and my offers are without obligations! My car is small (Toyota iQ1), so big luggage is a no go, sorry.

N.B. Even that CS is free of charge, it is most common to bring a little gift - related to your origin (country which you are from) or something else, to be nice. It is not compulsory, but to pay tribute to your hosts motivation to accept you as a total strange and to become a friend and fellow traveller...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I used to "couchsurf" about 25 years ago in Berlin and abroad (Vespa Scooter to Italy/San Marino) but am just a rookie on the current network. When I was studying in Britain 1995/1996 and 1997/2000 I spent some vacation with a host family in Wales and the experice was great.
Home-Hosting is part of the Roundtable approach and I am used to it. If I may be on help, just give us a ring.
In the meantime, since I join this network, I have tried traveling on the network, as well. My experiences are just great. I alway come as a stranger, feel treated like a fellow and often leave as a friend.
Interests
I do play Contract Bridge, be a computer nerd, play Squash/Racquettball/Volleyball and communicate with people who wants the world a bit better (e.g. Patch Adams whom I met twice in person), different lifestyles apeals to me (DS) and I am open minded and flexible. Do you ever thought about different money systems like TALENT for example?

What I Can Share with Hosts
History to talk about, Swiss Environment (but remember I am a foreigner, in this country myself for 15 years now) . Technically, I may share the flat/shower and breakfast (fresh bread in the morning done by a small robot is my habit). I am not a cook, but well equiped and love to watch/join a preperation and the joint meal afterwards. Eating is fun, wether as vegan/vegetarian or ordinary. Ah, just got it by another host abroad: IF YOU APPLY FOR HOSTING with me, please be so kind as to start your request withe the phrase "Intercultural Emphaty" to be considered as really wanting VS with us, thanks.
