About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've often found that travellers are more fun to be around than more sedentary people. They are more interested in doing interesting things, have great stories to tell, and are generally more positive and happy, so even when I'm being sedentary, it's great to be reminded of this sometimes!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first country I ever went to outside of Australia was Ukraine (if you can exclude the Hong Kong & Helsinki airports). I got out of the airport nearly 5 hours late, and with limited Ukrainian (I'd never spoken to a person before, but had gotten ok at the tapes) I got myself to the central station only to find out that all the connecting trains were booked out. Despite Kyiv being very busy that night, I managed to find myself accommodation, dinner and even a new friend, before I crashed from the utter exhaustion of 50+ hours of nonstop flying & airports.
My only true rookie mistake was drinking the water, something I was severely reprimanded for by my Ukrainian friends parents (who were doctors).
