Overview
About Me
My name is Sergio, I’m 26 years old and I’m from a little town in the south of Chile called La Unión. I’ve lived here all my life, for which I can’t complain as it is a pretty cool place to live an easy, quiet life.
However, I don’t want to live here forever, and I would like to get to experience a bit of the outside world before coming back (if I ever do!), so I’ve decided to start traveling around Europe again (I did something similar in 2017 for three months, which really opened my eyes and left me with a forever desire to travel as much as possible, in my youth years at least).
I would consider myself an introvert, although I always try to practice and expand my very few social abilities. This is why my preferences in terms of activities are pretty simple and quiet, such as having a talk while we share some tea, walking around the city, visit natural places, go camping, train some sports, cook something, etc. But, like I said, the main goal of my travels are to explore and experience as much I can of what’s outside my comfort zones, so I’m really open to any activity as long as we have fun!
I’m pretty curious, and capable of getting interested in about anything you can share with me, specially if it’s something you love and are passionate about. I really enjoy listening and sharing stories, as well as living new experiences. About my interests and hobbies, there are a few:
I really like photography although lately I’ve been lacking the motivation to go out and take some pictures, at least here in my town. Hopefully I’ll come to reignite this passion while traveling, as there’s always something new to register and memories to make.
I’ve been training parkour for about 13 years, so I’m always up for going training anywhere and of course teaching you if you want.
I also try to live a vegetarian lifestyle, although I’m open to trying new foods and recipes while I’m traveling. I seriously love animals and spending time with them, so if you have a pet we’ll surely have a good time :).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, back then I didn’t know about Couchsurfing per se, but a few years ago I had the opportunity to host some travelers that were passing by La Unión, and truth be told I loved the experience.
Then, I found out about this platform and it led me to try it by myself in my first travel abroad, in Europe for three months. Throughout this time, I tried to use the platform as much as possible to make the most out of my trip and try to experience every place I’d be in a much more profound way: Making friends and staying with locals.
It was an absolutely enriching experience, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. The good energy this platform moves is incredible, as well as the quality of the people you can find here, and the good friends you can make. No doubt, I would stay again with each and every person I’ve met on here, and of course they will always be welcome in my home. I still keep in touch with a few special people I met here that hold a special place in my heart.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is a huge part of my life, and I couldn’t pick one genre that I like the most, though I think I’m more inclined to the prog-rock side. Some bands I enjoy are: Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Porcupine Tree, The Strokes, Radiohead, TOOL, Muse, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Rush, and a long etcétera. The point is I really enjoy any kind of music and one of the best activities I can think of, is to just put on some music and listen to it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Backpacked around Europe for 3 months using Couchsurfing and around South America for some time too.
- Taught myself how to backflip!
Teach, Learn, Share
I think the answer for these three questions is pretty much the same all across, as they have to do with my interests, so I’m always open to teach, learn and share about photography, graphic design, illustration, music (although I don’t know how to play any instruments, I’d love to learn or listen to you play one!), parkour, books, etc. But really, I’ll be interested in learning just about any topic or ability you’d be willing to teach me and I’ll give it my best.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to share some time with them, as I think that is the whole purpose of this platform. So, anything really that could be fun to all of us involved! As I said, I'm a pretty laid back person so I'm happy with whatever, even if you don't want/can hang out as much, I'll be happy to share the same space with someone. I can adapt pretty well, I am respectful of boundaries and of course I try to contribute with whatever I can to the wellness of my hosts and their homes. :)
