About Me

Hey! A little bit about me... I grew up outside of NYC, finished my bachelors in psych and am now working on my doctorate in physical therapy.
With books I live without envy as I linger through the pages of both non-fiction and fiction learning, growing, and escaping.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I love to travel - don't we all? I went on a wanderlust of my own in 2016 and have plans for another in 2020 (when I finish my doctorate). I will be spending 6 months living in South America before I finish my degree, too!
I don't tie myself down to plans so we'll see where I end up - couchsurfing works fairly well with that!

Interests

Books, books, books, nature (within reason - I have bad knees), running, taking naps, meeting people and really hearing about their lives, and expressing gratitude to every living thing I can find.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, full orchestra compositions, Chilean salsa music, Leon Bridges, Jess Glynne, African drum ensembles, and pretty much anything but EDM.

Movies: Dreamgirls, Finding Nemo (reserve your judgments), The Goonies, You're Not You, Meru, documentaries of any kind...

Books: Anything by C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig, How the Mind Works by Steven Pinker, A Million Little Pieces by James Frey, All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr and well I could just go all day!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've financially sponsored/adopted a 5 year old girl and a 14 year old boy living in Togo (Northwest Africa) through Compassion International.

Sky diving above the Hudson Valley in NY.

Euro-Wanderlust and Scottish study abroad in 2016.

Teach, Learn, Share

"A fool speaks because he thinks he has to say something, a wise man speaks because he has nothing to say."
"If you speak you can only share what you already know but if you listen you might learn something you didn't."

The human experience is so diverse yet so alike, so separate yet so connected.

I want to dedicate my life to learning; never a day passing without gaining knowledge about those and the world around me, even if it's horribly obscure like fishing strategies in Hawaii (true story, I found that book at an antique shop).
I want to teach nothing more than the ability to perspective switch and see the beauty in those that surround us with understanding, acceptance, and LOVE.

What I Can Share with Hosts

It depends on the host! If you care to talk about the meaning of life admiring the infinity of our universe and the depth of our souls or simply pass as ships in the night I accept our preferences in human interaction.
And of course...FOOD. Let's connect!
