About Me
Hey folks,
My name is Serafin but most people know me as Dutchie. I quit my job working tower cranes a few years ago to travel around the world for a couple of years on my temperamental motorcycle. Since then I've returned home for a long "break" to work, while I look to put together the next leg from Ushuaia - Prudhoe Bay.
I enjoy keeping fit and healthy, I powerlift five days a week, and keep a regular early rise, early sleep schedule. It would be silly to say that I think motorcycles are the greatest man made invention, for that may have already been obvious to the casual observer, but here I am saying it anyway.
I am passionate about health, motorcycles, neuroscience, food and very large paper maps. People say I'm adventurous, but I would say that I'm simply a very curious person. Curiosity doesn't get me killed, but it brings me close some of the time, and that's probably just enough to keep me sated.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet you, and share in cultural exchange and experience. To extend the invitation of hospitality, love and friendship that I have received countless times around the world. To hear your unique stories, about who you are and where you come from. Nothing beats the knowledge and experience of a local around town. Let me welcome you into my humble home as my guest, and friend, and explore my country - by motorcycle!
Interests
Motorcycles are to me what sugar is to chocolate, and although I treat them terribly sometimes, I love them very dearly. As somebody once said, when you're in a car crossing the river, you're in a car crossing the river, however, when you're on a bike crossing a river - you're in the river!
Travel - after riding a motorcycle through north africa for 3 months and then another 2 years through europe, the east and central asia, I've realised the only clear way for me to travel the world and meet the interesting people in it, is off my motorcycle - preferably covered in dust, dirt and grime with a big smile on my face!
Other things I enjoy when I'm not on the road include powerlifting, eating, poring over maps and reading books.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach aussie colloquialisms, Aussies speak a kind of english that is unheard of anywhere else in the world.
Loves a good feed, usually cooking up a storm most nights of the week, and I know the city of Sydney among others, quite well, so I can point you in the right direction if you need it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I teach Australian colloquialisms like a pro and can enjoy a fine whiskey more than most other gentlemen. Clean, respectful, and alot of fun. I'm the 8th wonder of the world when it comes to food. I eat how I travel - adventurous and in large amounts. Great listener, share your stories over a cup of tea and a biscuit. Likely to cajole you in digging into a large chocolate bar together.
