ABOUT ME

Yes, I am the farm wife on an apple orchard in Orondo, WA. That's in the north central part near Wenatchee. My husband and I raise apples, a few pears and cherries. We also raised four lovely daughters. And now we are reaping grandchildren. Ours is a very rural community centered around the school and the fire department. So we have been involved in those activities in various capacities over the years. As some of our children come back into the business, I am phasing out and exploring other activities of interest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

One of my daughter's and her husband have couch surfed in South America and have hosted several surfers in their home. I get to hear about their surfing adventures and sometimes meet a surfer. I couched surfed with my daughter through Nova Scotia, CA each of our hosts were very different, and every stay was positive.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couched surfed around Nova Scotia, CA May 2012. My hosts ranged from a bird scientist, a kayak guide, an international couple to a family with 3 young children- all so different, all so welcoming, all a great experience.

Interests

I am interested in agriculture, but branching out, too. I love reading, seeing new places-learning the history and connecting with the people.

I like lots of different kinds of music, movies and books but I do avoid violence.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A highlight of my travels was going to the butterfly reserve in the state of Mexico, Mexico. We lucked into a perfect day for them to be awakening and flying. Truely a spiritual moment.

Well, what can I say I am quite knowledgeable on growing apples, which I have discovered is a interesting subget to many people. We can even arrange visits to various places for surfers to our area.
