Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

During my trip to Balochistan with my friends, I decided to visit the Nushky desert and finally convinced them to come with me. This part of Balochistan is known to be quite risky. We reached there in the night after a long day trip. A friend who was a local told us that our destination was this one room in the middle of this completely barren land; the only room where we could sleep in (and that too without a toilet!). But, before we knew it, we were lost in the middle of the desert where we could not see anything but parched lands. For two hours we went round and round. We thought we would have to spend the night in our car now. However, suddenly we saw an empty room out of nowhere. Without saying a word to anyone, we went and spent the night there though it wasn’t the place we were supposed to be in. We woke up early in the morning and to our surprise, our room was only 600 meters away from the place we spent the night in! Excited, we walked towards our room but here it was, another surprise; a sandstorm! So we went back to the room we slept in. The sandstorm was so intense that we spent an entire day, and a night there. There was sand everywhere; our food, our water, our clothes, our skin, our lives! The next day, when the storm calmed down a bit, we realized that we were quite short of water. Imagine the dryness, barrenness and the thirst. My friend and I walked to the nearest village, ‘Isa Cha’ in search of water, which was hardly 5 km away from where we were. There we met a man, the only human being we saw during this Nushky trip. An old man, ‘Baba’ who was around late 80’s gave us a can of water. We went back to our room and once again, the sand storm came back. My friend had a high temperature so we decided to go back to the city. We packed everything up and quickly left and again, an extreme sand storm came our way! We were lost again. We went round in circles searching for our way back home for about three hours. The border of Afghanistan was so close that we were afraid of crossing it since all we could see was sand. After a hundred circles we went around, we ended up at the same room! Helplessly, we spent another night there with almost no water at all. The next day we finally reached the city. I had planned to do a lot of photography there but in this crazy trip to the Nushky desert, this was the only photograph I took; of the only man we saw in these crazy sandy 2 days and 3 nights.
