I grew up in one of the most crowded cities on Earth—Dhaka. Later, I moved abroad for higher studies and changed countries once. In between, I’ve traveled through Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. I currently work at an American tech company in London. Between busy workdays, I look for moments to breathe and escape the routine. That’s where travel comes in. I’m always happy to guide or host fellow travelers—or be guided and hosted—when the timing aligns. Catch me on Social Networks. www.linkedin.com/in/shakibbb

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I first joined Couchsurfing while looking for accommodation during the Rio Olympic Games in Brazil. A friend suggested I try it, and I ended up having an incredible trip—surfing in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, meeting amazing people, and falling in love with the spirit of the community. Since then, I’ve remained a fan of how Couchsurfing connects travelers across borders. I’d be happy to help fellow travelers explore my two homes: Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy English hits from the ’70s to ’90s—bands like Queen, Guns N’ Roses, and more. And when it comes to books and movies? The Godfather trilogy never gets old.

What I Can Share With Hosts
I can cook Bengali dishes quite well and would be happy to make you a Bengali for a day! Unlike the typical spicy Bengali stereotype, I’m fully adaptable in both eating and living. I can blend into most environments comfortably.
My Interests
I used to think I was great at communicating—until I grew older and realized it’s something I’m still learning. I once thought I was bad at focusing, but now I see it’s one of my strengths. Every day, I try to turn routine moments into meaningful ones. I love traveling and talking to people from all walks of life. I used to do a lot of photography and blog writing, especially about my travel stories. Sadly, I lost access to my blog domain during a long break—and someone turned it into a completely different kind of site. Lesson learned. These days, I mostly enjoy watching old photos and reflecting. I’m updating this profile after a 5-6 year break and found that many of my past interests have shifted. So here’s my refreshed list: • Watching documentaries on nature, history, and science • Learning new things constantly • Occasionally traveling and catching up with old friends • Writing personal reflections • Hoping to pick up photography again Though I’m less social than I used to be, I still value meaningful connections.
