About Me

I am doing an experiment, and I want you to join me.

I want to know what makes people take actions towards what they truly want to do. No matter it is self-actualising or solving problems in their community. I feel that we waste so much time on things that don't give us real/long-term gratification. We waste our time and regret. Sometimes we feel that we are not wasting time, we are learning! But we never took actions. I feel sad that I have no impact on this world.

I want to take action. Starting this experiment is my first step in actualising my dream. I think the most important thing I can do in my life is to help people self-actualise, and promote "local problems local solve". I didn't know where to start, but I knew that I have to start and try. Then Couchsurfing comes to my mind because people here are open to new experiences. So if you want to take actions towards your goal, come and stay with me and we can try it together! If you don't have anything in mind, we can identify it together!

====Below are the things I have written previously. Some of them may be outdated, but I decided not to delete them because I think they are parts of me====

[ Want to Learn about Everything]
There are many things I'm interested in, but I think "what is a good life" is the core question I always trying to explore. I think this is the fundamental question we need to explore if we want to contribute to society. But there are no limits on how to learn about it. From the wisdom of common sense and cultures, to arts (art, literature, film...), to philosophy, to science...

I like to challenge my beliefs. The stronger I believe in something, the more I want to know about its assumptions, history, and counter-arguments. I want to know why I believe in certain things (or think I know certain "truths"), and I hope I can be more open-minded to learn more.

[These are some topics that I'm interested in:]
What is a good life, the future lifestyle, the human mind, philosophy, different cultures and lifestyles, biomimicry, the concept of "emergence", learning from nature, arts, public involved arts, community, volunteering, text/ film analysis, the study of failure, wisdom of common sense, empowerment, history of food, development of technology

[About London]
I am a Hongkonger living in London. So I could be as new to London as you do haha. But I would love to do research with you! I'm interested in cultures and origins of everything (such as FOOD!). Let's explore London in depth together :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

[Meet friends, and learn more about the culture and lifestyle]
I have always want to learn about the place more when travelling. The views, sites, foods don't speak...but I'm hungry to know more. I like to do research on them, but it will be my greatest pleasure to have the chance to talk with the people! I want to know your experiences and views:)

Hmmm...there a many...I just love to learn from books and analyse films. A book that is particularly meaningful to me is Man's Search for Meaning; Homo Deus largely influences my view toward future; and I love to learn more about my own culture, so ancient Chinese books like Dao De Jing (by Laozi), and The History of Chinese Schools of Thoughts. And how can I forget! The Unbearable Lightness of Being

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met a researcher who I greatly appreciate when I travelled to Norway! It's amazing that things that are hard to imagine are possible when you try! I never thought he would reply my email. But I always like to try.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to share anything I learned about ancient China and Chinese culture!

Hong Kong snacks, some humble knowledge of traditional Chinese culture. And maybe we can cook some Asian dishes together (I'm not good at it, but we can try if you will)!
