About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy the moment, and extend compassion to all, including myself

ABOUT ME

My best friend Jill and I took a 3-month journey through the Middle East and Europe, surfing almost the entire way. It was an incredible experience, and has turned me into a couchsurfing advocate for life.

I recently left the US to pursue an amorphous, long-held, ever-evolving goal that I can only describe as "living creatively".

I really love to express. Making music, characters, skits, stories, articles, noises, bad jokes, and things of this nature.

I have several alter-egos. Some of them even have a fanbase! We'll get into this in person, though. If I say much more, I might scare people away.

Also: wit.

PHILOSOPHY

There's no excuse not to achieve your dreams!

Avoid death in small doses.

Change your thoughts, change your life...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm taking my first stab at hosting now that I have my own place in Valparaiso with two awesome roommates. After so much traveling and surfing with a wide array of incredible world citizens, the doors if my own abode are finally open to other seekers, travelers and wanderers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was in Cairo, with Michael - and what a great first experience! From there, we surfed in Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, and England. Every surf was unique and amazing...it totally transformed the trip. Since that first encounter with the CS project, I now rely on CS as an invaluable resource when visiting a new place or planning a trip. There's no other way to more effectively know a place, meet locals, and exchange ideas. CS 4 LYFE.

Music, Movies, and Books

Let's talk about this in person, is it even possible to list all your favorite movies, music and books? Come on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed to the top of MANY ancient Mayan pyramids!

And, more recently, made it to the top of Mount Sinai in Egypt. And re issued the ten commandments, since we were in the area.

Teach, Learn, Share

Always be open to opportunity, even if it takes you away from your original plan. The best part of travel is found outside the lines of the itinerary.

"Joy springs from within; no one makes you joyous; you choose joyfulness."

Set your sights high, the higher the better. Expect the most wonderful things to happen, not in the future but right now. Realize that nothing is too good. Allow absolutely nothing to hamper you or hold you up in any way.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Belize, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, El Salvador, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Italy, Jordan, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Chile, Guatemala, Mexico
