I'm a theatre geek who's taken some time off from the stage to be a full time caregiver for a family member. I don't get out to travel much because of my daily position, but when I do, I love to visit unique places and see new things.

Most of my life is taken up with caring for my grandmother. We do lots of fun things together like go to little league baseball games, the zoo, picnics, and even to a local bar (we love our beer!) When I'm not taking care of her, I try to get out and travel or visit with friends because I spend a lot of my time at home for my work.

When I was working in theatre, I spent most of my time back stage, in scenic construction, and prop making. My specialty is making props.

I love to design and throw theme parties and often document them on my dessert blog, Shane's Killer Cupcakes. My blog also showcases my fun baking experiences.

I love to take road trips and hope to take more of them in the coming years. My favorite thing to do is collect souvenirs and trinkets from my trips.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to many types of music. I enjoy Top 40 but also more unique artists. I'm a huge fan of '90s Alternative rock.

I'm a huge fan of television shows. I like watching TV almost more than going to the movies these days. Some shows I enjoy are Parks and Recreation, Hannibal, Orphan Black, Silicon Valley, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, RuPaul's Drag Race, Mr. Robot, The Walking Dead, New Girl, Six Feet Under, Community, Psych and there are many more.

As for movies I usually wait until new releases are on Netflix before I see them. I love to stream older movies through Netflix. Some of my all-time favorite movies are Wayne's World, Safety Not Guaranteed, Home Alone, and Scream.

I don't read books as often as I'd like to but some of my favorites are Fight Club and Ready Player One.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Off the top of my head, one amazing thing I did was put on a circus/carnival themed party single-handedly at my house. My living room was decorated to look like a Big Top circus tent and my backyard was a carnival complete with handmade carnival games (balloon darts, tin can alley, bottle ring toss, fish bowl toss, Plinko, etc) and a table of prizes. I planned, created, and made all decorations, games, food, and activities for the party as well as created a ringleader costume for myself. It took about six months to put together. I only threw the party because I like party planning and hadn't seen my friends in a while. I love parties!
