About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to learn what is worth knowing.
ABOUT ME

PHILOSOPHY
I think identity is a committee product, not something innate to be discovered, or something personal to be created. I consider myself to be an organized narrative tying together important places, events, and people with whom i formed various relationships. It is the total set of those relationships, as generally understood by others, that define me as an individual. If you really want to know about me, its going to take you some time, and a willingness to recognize and reject certain initial assumptions. However, with this in mind, l try to do the same in getting to know about other people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have not yet had the opportunity to participate in the CS2 project, but i am looking forward to getting to know some surfers!
Interests
I’m interested in a universe which does not necessarily need a divine master to be, in and of itself, divine. I’m also interested in what things mean, and how they relate to each other. Most ideas, objects, or actions have multiple meanings and relationships, in a constant state of revision. Life is fascinating, fantastic.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a big movie fan. In the right circumstances, i can love watching even a really bad one. Movies take us up in a narrative with flash and movement and noise, like real life. Movies provide a good perspective. I'll watch anything recommended to me.
I like to listen to anything that rocks me, but that isn’t limited to rock and roll music. If you’re passionate about a song, i can probably find something i like about it. I am always open to suggestion, and new music seems to have a way of giving me new direction.
Mostly my favorite books are those that give me exactly what i need when i need it, psychologically speaking. Even better is when this happens unexpectedly. Some examples: Catcher In the Rye, Ishmael, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Joshua, Siddhartha, Brave New World, Slaughterhouse Five, Illusions. Its impossible not to love a book that provides answers to questions you couldn’t clarify in your mind.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have climbed a number of mountains, and each was uniquely amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a degree in International Relations. I consider myself to study perception, value, and behavior. I can talk about a lot of things in those terms.
I tend to organize my learning interests into programs. Right now i'm very much into modern internet technology, which flowed out of web structures and multi-agent systems out of web ecology out of sustainability studies. I promise that all has to do with perception, value, and behavior, though you'll have to ask me how and be willing to deal with a Socratic answer.
I grew up on a ranch, if that interests anyone.
