About Me
Hi there!
I am Shania, a 23-years old Indonesian who currently lives in Malta for my postgraduate studies. Currently, I am on Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree Program in Tourism Development and Culture. The study brought me to live in Scotland, Malta (now), and Portugal (from next September!)
I have been living a suitcase/backpack life since 2020 where I started my first solo-travel before the pandemic hit. Since then, I have always moved and lived in several places, such as Bali and Lombok (Indonesia) and Birmingham (England).
I love writing, playing music (I play guitar and ukulele!), singing, listening to music, walking, having conversation and spending time in nature.
I’d say I am a free-spirited person and driven by my passion and my enthusiasm to learn and explore the world. Thus, to experience and understand other cultures, go to places, meet new people, listen and share stories are what I am really keen on!🏽
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to hang out with the local people during my journey as I want to see the places I am visiting through the local’s perspectives. And my past travel experience taught me that what makes the journey special is not only the place itself, but also the people you meet along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Taylor Swift (for her talent in song-writing), Kina Grannis, Cigarettes After Sex, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Coldplay, HONNE, many more. I generally love acoustic, indie, and folk music!
Movies:
hmmmm... I am not so much into movies (unless if I watch them on cinema, otherwise I will fall asleep in the first 10 minutes) - or any movies with beautiful script-writing.
Books:
I read any kind of books that I find interesting :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked Bali's highest volcano (Mt. Agung - 3,031m) OVERNIGHT. It was crazy, but amazing. I don't even know how I managed to do it.
I drove the whole Lombok island with my friend by a car in a day. It was spontaneous but it ended up to be one of my best travel memories. We watched a beautiful sunset on the beach and sang songs at the top of our lungs on the car! It was beautiful. (I wrote this in 2020)
