About Me
My amazing partner, Travis and I live with my 12 year old angel/daughter 50% of the time. We are open-minded, loving, adventurous and aware. Recently, we realized a divine dream to open a healing & retreat center. greatspiritfarm.org We have an incredible amount of peace and love in our home, and attribute that to our education in communication, being present, and authentic self-expression. We feel everyone has something valuable, a talent, to offer the world, and when we all feel accepted enough to express our individual gifts, our planet will naturally flourish and thrive with beauty and freedom. We love nature, ourselves, others, our paradisaical planet, and are doing what we can to preserve our resources and live sustainably. We are very young at heart, with a penchant for adrenaline. We have 2 beehives, 8 chickens, and an a outdoor cat.
After 40 years of growing up on a river and watching the water quality decline due to pollution, I created a monthly event to paddle our section and clean it up. Travis organizes a group of local community members who help educate the public on how to grow chemical-free food with Permaculture techniques. We recently stopped purchasing paper towels. We choose a plant-based diet for lots of reasons, however, we don't judge others for their diet or lifestyle. Just don't try to eat one of my chickens. hehe We love to kayak, canoe, race our cars, explore the outdoors and within ourselves, learn about edible plants & weeds, and make a difference for others. I've been a skydiver for 14 years, and Travis is a gearhead. He will happily talk cars for hours if you can keep up. We practice yoga and love to be outdoors. We are about 30-45 minutes north of Tampa. We can show you the only mangroves with nice water in the area, possibly state of Florida.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To connect with the other extraordinary people out there that make up the oneness we call Humanity. To share what I've learned along the way and to learn what others can easily teach. To see peoples faces light up when they experience the real Florida that's in our backyard, like kayaking by rays, birds and dolphins, in the Florida mangrove trails, or a seeing a manatee on the river. To make friends that stretch the globe. To ease the cost of travel for myself and others. To learn how the locals live when I travel. I mean, what better way to explore, and to do it efficiently, than to connect with like-minded locals, make new friends and see the best stuff, without the stress of researching and navigating in a strange place?!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I birthed my daughter naturally in a hot tub, and empowered a good friend's wife while she had both her daughters naturally, too. Seeing a child born is like nothing else!
I've flown my parachute around clouds and watched them grow before my eyes, and skydived over the Florida Keys and landed at sunset on the beach with throngs of spectators, and a beer in my jumpsuit ready to celebrate the end of a perfect day.
I've made an impact in the level of water pollution by organizing river clean-ups in my backyard. We've removed couches, a 4-wheeler, recliner, love seat, hot tub, dead boats, tires, drums of oil, and over 150 bags of trash.
Yeah, that's more than just one...
