About Me
Hello everyone! I'm a quiet nature boy who mostly just likes to play with dirt and plants. I have a thousand different interests and love learning new skills.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I recently accepted a permanent position in Eastsound and am looking for a place to stay for 3 nights a week through August or until I can afford a space of my own. I've always been fond of improvisation, travel, and hearing people's stories; and then I remembered Couchsurfing.
Would love the opportunity to meet some friendly people and get to know the community better before I make the jump from the mainland. Hopefully I will be able to repay the favor soon!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a little bit of all kinds of music. Top music picks at the moment might be... Robin Williamson, Indian classical, Bowie, Sigur Ros, gamelan, Modest Mouse, Sam Cooke, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Mongolian folk, Incredible String Band... lots of other stuff.
Usually like to watch documentaries, experimental, foreign, and most animated films; and I mostly read nonfiction, especially history, field guides, mythology, folk tales, and DIY books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently finished two years in the Washington Conservation Corps, where I was given the opportunity to plant thousands of trees, help teach about native plants, and take part in emergency relief services in my home county. Easily some of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I have an established and colorful history of useful experience, and am more than happy to be helpful in any way I can or do any kind of work you might have, so long as I am able and equipped for the task. Always willing to learn something new.
I'm particularly well-versed in land maintenance, landscaping, gardening, pruning, painting, cooking, cleaning, tool maintenance, animal care, and many another form of hard labor. I have professional training in native plants and ecology and a tendency to try and create habitat wherever I go.
