Overview
About Me
Outgoing, laid back Minnesota native who loves traveling on a whim. You're only in your 20s once, make the most of it.
I recently quit my job and am now on a world trip without an end date. I started in the Philippines, and next stop is Indonesia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My favorite part of traveling is being inspired and learning other people's stories. Couchsurfing is a great way to do that.
Staying with a local and being able to ask someone you're comfortable with questions about a city and culture adds an invaluable element to a trip, something you can never get at a hostel.
Interests
Biking, very spicy food, beer, cooking, music, hiking, camping, and going to shows. I'm a very active person and enjoy just walking around a city aimlessly to learn it (eating a lot of food along the way, of course).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: https://soundcloud.com/shelby-streachek
My music taste always changing, but currently really into the Sly and the Family Stone discography. Music is essential to my life, share your favorites with me.
Movies: The Departed, Catch me if you can, Slumdog Millionaire... I fall asleep during the first 30 min of most movies, so if I can stay awake past that point it's probably an ok movie.
Books: Shantaram, biographies, Scar Tissue, One Day, Catcher in the Rye, history, non-fiction
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I just completed my first solo cross country bicycling trip through Taiwan! A lot of sweat, mountains, tiny Taiwanese towns, and dumplings.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach cooking, English, and anything you'd ever want to learn about supply chain operations. I have this wild job at a tour company, and can share endless stories in regards to that. I'd also like to think I have a decent music taste and would enjoy nothing more than sharing some new tunes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Alcohol? Crazy stories? Stuff I've learned from Vice and documentaries?
