About Me

I am a dog sitter/house sitter, and will travel to do so. Recently I had a dog caring job in North Carolina and afterward, continued driving south to visit family. While in my homes I treat them as if they are mine and pretend I am still running my old Shelley's House Cleaning Services. I believe in earning my keep.
When I was younger I used to travel one way because it was less expensive. I'm a gypsy at heart. I love the earth and everything on it. Plants, animals, mountains, lakes, hiking, snowshoeing, fishing, sewing, reading, movies...I could go on and on
I'm an artist in every medium and have a flare for design and color.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My extremely well mannered Labradoodle travels with me and sometimes it's difficult to find a pet friendly stay. I love to travel and don't have a steady income .
I'm visiting a couch surfing friend and she encouraged me to look into this site since I am heading back up north.

Interests

I'd like to learn more about growing vegetables but I rock with my house plants. I can't seem to throw them away and I keep multiplying them.
Quilts are new to me too and I should take lessons to be a better seamstress but I like to create one of a kind things and reuse/recycle things to an art form..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I painted a back drop for a ballet that was larger than life. When I accepted the job I did not visual the true size! It took a month of back breaking work but that was one job I was truly proud of.

Teach, Learn, Share

Looking things up is common sense to me as long as the Internet is available or if there is a set of encyclopedias nearby. I homeschooled three children and one daughter thanked me later for teaching the importance of the action to "look it up"
