About Me
Putting myself into words? Let me give it a try!
My name is Shivam, originally from India and currently living in Germany, where I'm pursuing my Master’s degree in International Business. I aspire to make a career in marketing. I’d describe myself as a calm, friendly, and happy-go-lucky guy. I value meaningful conversations and am always curious to listen to the experiences of other people, as I believe people are like books, each with their own unique story to tell.
I am more of a mountain guy and want to eventually get settled in the mighty Himalayas at some point in my life. I love dogs and I enjoy playing sports and strum my guitar in my free time. I’m passionate about exploring new cultures, meeting interesting people, and discovering the local gems of any city I visit.
I look forward to meeting new friends and making each experience memorable for both my hosts and me :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I firmly believe that travelling isn’t about ticking items off a checklist but about the stories you gather and the memories you create along the way. That's exactly what brings me to Couchsurfing. Couchsurfing for me is more than just a place to stay; it’s about connecting with people and exchanging stories from around the world. Moreover, while travelling, I prefer to experience a city like a local, not just as a tourist, and what better platform than Couchsurfing to do that, right?

Music, Movies, and Books
I love space Sci-fi movies like Interstellar and Gravity. I also enjoy light-hearted shows like Friends and HIMYM, but also thrillers like Breaking Bad and FAUDA.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I’ve done is hike a mountain with my friends in the outer Himalayas, around 12,000 ft (3,700 m). We got delayed on our way to the campsite and it got dark, and we found ourselves under a full moon with the entire mountain range covered in snow. In that surreal moment, we arguably spotted a snow leopard just a few meters away from us. Don't worry, I survived! :)
