About Me

I'm a pretty laid back individual. Most of my life is taken up by my son and two dogs. Whether it be camping, hiking, biking or just hanging on a patio, I like to be outdoors as much as possible. I also enjoy live music of *almost all varieties and am quite the cook and foodie. It's my view that we're on this tiny blue dot to get as much experience in as we can, so with that in mind I try to be always learning something new or working toward some new goal or adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet new and interesting people while at the same time assist and facilitate positive exchanges of culture, knowledge and experiences and maybe even show my son the diversity the human race has to offer, even its right at my own kitchen table.

Interests

My interests are wide and varied. I'm incredibly active, love the outdoors and am out to absorb new information in whatever medium it comes at me. Be it science, philosophy, history, sociology or really whatever, I'm infinitely interested.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is lots of alternative, bluegrass, classic rock, bits of punk and blues, some instrumentals and classical. I like the weird and progressive and stuff with added elements or blending of genres to it. Not too big on a lot of pop/contemporary rock.

Book!! Favorite authors include Vonnegut, David Foster Wallace, Bukowsky, Oliver Sacks, and Mary roach. I fairly big into fantasy and have a guilty pleasure for dystopian. I also enjoyphilosophical from the lines of Mans Search for Meaning to the Toa of Pooh, Camus and Sam Harris.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm training for my first marathon!! Most interesting thing I've done in the last year is probably the float tank. If you've ever done meditation or ever wanted to get outside yourself I highly suggest it.
