About Me

Curious without discretion. Rationalist. Poet. Hugger. Dog-lover. Tea-lover. Laugher. Doodler. Love to discuss everything under the sun. Always learning, eager to teach.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, different experiences, getting to know places through a resident's eye.

Challenge my belief systems with the experiences and opinions of people I meet.

Make friends from various walks in life and different places over the world.

Interests

I love thinking. All people, lives, subjects, countries become one when understanding the world through cause and effect. I like learning the rough edges, the dirty details of life where things cannot be predicted and generalizations fail.
I aspire to compassion, given the human condition.

I also believe that applied rationality can significantly help contentment, peace, quality of life, and growth.

I have always loved words too! I write, read and play with words all the time. I met my life-partner at a poetry event!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Almost died while trekking down the wrong route up to Triund, India. A sheer drop three inches from our toes. Feet slipping on moist mud. Evening falls. Clouds threaten to pour. The best part? Bushes filled with thorns coated in excrutiatingly painful fluids fill our body with pricks from hell for thirty minutes (I have the scars).

2. I discovered Solipsism in 9th grade independently.
Never been the same since.

3. Have witnessed the deepest, most colourful corners of India's religious rituals and austerities (benefits of being raised in a super-religious family).

4. Also, wrote a love-letter that was two notebooks long, in 10th grade. I was so melodramatic!

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH

1. How to think better; pitfalls to watch out for; how the brain uses shortcuts and messes up all the time and how knowing them can make the world a more content, peaceful and happy place.

2. Something about all the subjects listed in my Interests.

3. I am also trained as an engineer and am quite good with math and logic which can help you with problem-solving, structuring life-issues and even higher studies.

4. Microsoft Excel - I can make working models which can help everywhere. Planned our six-week NZ trip on it from top to bottom.

5. The art of discipline and willpower.

LEARN

1. Your life stories, something that changed the way you think recently, what people often lack according to you, your fundamental values, why do you live?

2. Crafts!

3. History, sciences, business, mathematics, arts.

4. I would like to learn everything you want to teach. Horshoe-making, book-binding, Celtic glyphs. I will give it my 100%!
I will not tire of learning as long as you don't tire of teaching, and I promise I am an easy student :)

SHARE

1. Long, tight honest BEAR HUGS with my enormous hands! I have hugged dozens of people, some without knowing their names and it has been a wonderful experience.

2. Stimulating, rich and original conversations, intellectual or otherwise.

3. Therapeutic empathy.

4. Eerie/unsettling/thought-provoking/ thought experiments and paradoxes. I can also try and mess with your mind if you want to try out that roller-coaster.

5. Massages with the largest hands you have ever seen.
