About Me
Please read this before you send me a request.
1. In the light of recent developments, please send me a request with your name and details of the places you have been in the last 3 months. -Corona Special!!
2.Please include your name and the name and details of people you are making the request on behalf of. Only place requests on behalf of people you can vouch for. Please don't bring strangers to my house or give them my address.
3. Please help me keep the house clean. Even though this might not need to be specifically mentioned in the case of most people, I have had incidents where I had to clean out used toilet paper and sanitary pads left in vessels used for keeping water. Needless to say this was very disheartening. Also, please don't leave utensils and vessels you've used for cooking in the kitchen sink. I clean the house myself despite my usually busy schedule.
4. I am unlikely to accept your request if you don't have any references. But if you are couch surfing for the first time then please mention that and tell me why you've decided to try this platform and definitely consider it if you have interesting stories to tell.
5. If I have accepted your request and there is no response from you for the next 24 hours, I might cancel your request, especially if there are other requests pending. If you think that you will not have internet connection in the next few days, please mention that when you make a request.
6.Partial towards, artists, musicians and lawyers. hahah.. Just kidding, but just to show me you've read the above say Namaskaram when you make the request.
About me:
I was born in Kerala but have been around the country. The travel bug was always in my veins but surfaced when I moved to the old capital of the British Raj, Calcutta to study law. Once bitten, my drive for travelling was insatiable. I started making small sojourns whenever college breaks and a students' life permitted. Then in 2015, I took a break from work and roamed around in India. My line of work imposes restrictions on my travel plans these days. Given these circumstances, I've found couch surfing to be great way to meet interesting people and share in their stories. India is a land of diversity. We have had visitors on these shores and over the mountains yonder north from the time of recorded history and perhaps much before. The geographical, cultural and economic uniqueness of India is the result of millennia of global interactions, and despite the fact that many a visitor came solely with the intention to pillage and plunder her wealth, we still believe in the aphorism - "Adhithi Devo Bhava"( They who visit are gods). That above all should tell us something about the culture of this country and its people.
