I'm always unsure how to structure these so here goes: To start, I used to go by 'Dan' but now I go by'Silas', so if you see references mentioning Dan, it's me but just an older name. Anyway... I'm 29, live in the us and love to host though at the time of this writing, early December 2024, I haven't had the opportunity to surf much Some Fun facts about me: Im a dual citizen of the US and Canada I can grow a massive beard My favorite genre of music is ambient I love to meet new people wherever I go so when I visit or host, my goal is to talk with surfers, hosts, or just people who I won't neccesarily see again. I'm happy to of course but part of what I love about CS is that you may meet the person in a week from then, or never again. And that's so interesting to explore doing Past that, hmu if I sound cool, I love drinks or a 420 smoke or just a walk and talk or whatever really though I do lean on more indoor or easy going activities

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
To meet people I wouldn't normally meet. When I travel places on my own, if I'm not couchsurfing, I'm in a hotel which is much harder to meet people than staying with them, or having them stay with you. I can offer a place to stay, or be offered a place, gaining new perspective, connection, friendship... What more could I want?
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Vaporwave Synthwave Videogame soundtracks broadly City pop Ambient Movies: Not a big movie guy but I'll happily watch anything non thriller or horror and I love animated stuff TV: Mostly sitcoms and animated stuff lately The good place Frazier The Nanny Will and grace What we do in the shadows Anything cartoon and looney tunes and general slapstick comedy Past that, I don't watch a ton of TV Books: Mostly urban fantasy though I'm always open to new ideas. I want to get into more non fiction titles but I'm not great at finding them on my own. Feel free to recommend me some
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Moved from my childhood home to Vancouver Canada, and then doing it again to Toronto.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m not really good at this sadly, I don’t have a lot to teach or share, but I’m good at listening and one of if not my main goal on CS is meeting new people and learning about them, I value others perspectives immensely
What I Can Share With Hosts
Someone who just wants to learn about you and hangout for a time. Someone who you may text, call, and meet up with sometime in the future, or maybe just someone you never talk to again. An enigma I guess
