About Me

My name is Silvisabel Fajardo and I am a 22 year old product design student. I decided to take a semester off before graduating to discover the world. I started in July, leaving Mexico City to reach my hometown Tampico, Tamaulipas in the north of Mexico. From there, I road tripped to Texas, back to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in Mexico then all through the United States, passing through Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Virginia, Maryland until we got to New York for couple of days. We left my best friend at the airport for she was going to now live in Singapur and we continued the road trip until Montreal, Canada. There The team returned to Mexico but I met with a longtime friend who offered me a place to star for more than a month. After living there, in September I arrived to Amsterdam where one of my best friends is living and have taken this as my base, looking for trips and adventures to go to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the best way to know a place is to get to know the locals, as their experience is what you can learn the most from. They will know what to eat and where to go, I believe that if you are in this website its because you have a similar approach to traveling and a mentality on meeting new people and being open to new cultures.

Interests

I enjoy electronic music and going to music festivals. Will try anything once, from food to traditions. I love dancing, meeting people, having a picnic, having a beautiful view, stay in the beach, write in my journal, draw a concept, 3D modelling, fashion, photography, FOOD, cooking, wine, a good laugh.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Electronic, techno, will sing a power balad depending on the mood.

Movies: Anything I haven't seen (what's the point in seeing one I already saw? I already know how it ends)

Books: Would like to be reading more books than what I am currently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving my Mexico City life on hold during these 6 months.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you: Spanish, English, 3D modelling, product design, graphic design, wood shop, metal works, ceramics (would need the requirements or studio thou), sketching, technical drawing, cooking, the best guacamole of your life.

I want to learn: instruments, music, languages (I just learned basic French), traditions, cultural differences, new music, new art, places to visit, things to research about, my favourite thing in the world is to learn something so pretty much anything I already don't know how to do. I like to learn odd things so far I know how to juggle, surf, work wood, metal, plastics, ceramics, cook, computer stuff, I want to learn to code, endless.

We can share: If everything turns out as it should, I enjoy having a gratitude dinner where were either we (or just me) cook and have dinner over a glass of wine. Hopefully we laugh.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good meal, nice company, small talk or deep conversation, a great listener, a good storyteller. I want to know about your country.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Canada, France, Guatemala, Netherlands, United States
