Con unas piernas muy potentes físicamente, Simone destaca por su por su dribbling. Se trata de un jugador intenso y muy tecnico;
con gran capacidad de penetración por las dos bandas, a pesar de que puede hacer las funciones de mediapunta o también las de delantero centro. Además, no tiene dificultad para transformar las ocasiones de las que dispone en gol.
