Hi there! I'm Amir, an explorer originally from the desert city of Tabas, Iran, now living in Oslo, Norway. Before settling in Oslo, I spent some time in Newcastle, Australia, where I completed my PhD studies. Currently, I’m a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oslo, diving into exciting academic work but always finding time for my love of outdoor adventures and cooking.

Growing up and living in unique environments have ignited my passion for the outdoors, particularly hiking. Whether I’m trekking through Norway's stunning landscapes or tackling trails during my travels, hiking is my way of connecting with nature and recharging. I’m always on the lookout for new hiking routes, be it a challenging mountain or a peaceful forest trail. If you love hiking as much as I do, we’ll have plenty of great outdoor moments to share.

When I'm not out jogging or hiking, you’ll probably find me in the kitchen experimenting with new vegan recipes. Cooking is one of my favorite ways to relax and share a bit of myself with others. Being vegan is a big part of my life, and I believe in cooking and eating in a way that’s healthy, sustainable, and cruelty-free. Whether it's whipping up a hearty plant-based meal or discovering local ingredients while traveling, I’m always excited to learn new cooking techniques and share delicious dishes with guests or hosts.

In addition to hiking and cooking, I’m a big fan of movies and TV series—British comedies in particular! I love sharing a laugh and swapping recommendations. I also enjoy learning new languages and cultures, and traveling has given me plenty of opportunities to pick up new phrases and traditions. Let’s exchange stories about our travels and learn something new from one another.

Music is another big part of my life. I enjoy listening to almost any genre, depending on my mood. Whether it's upbeat tunes to get energized for a hike, some mellow tracks for cooking, or discovering local music while traveling, music always enhances the experience for me.
