CURRENT MISSION
live and let live
ABOUT ME
I am a rather steadfast and natural person, I think, and I usually enjoy all aspects of clarity and simplicity. I reckon that's why usually I don't talk very much. I am also independent, which means, I don't really need a guide, entertainer or babysitter while I'm travelling. That's also why usually I usually travel on my own.
Sometimes however none of this is true and I am the odd one out - headbanging in the supermarket, jumping on and off the walls, fascinated by the here and now, thoughts, sounds and imagination.
But then no one really ever is that simple to be described accurately in a few words.
The short of it is, I think I am quite easy to get along with and while I do need my me-time, I do enjoy a good talk and definitely a good natured laugh - usually with people, not about them.
PHILOSOPHY
I am convinced, that whatever the situation in question is like, there has to be a simple and stressfree way to deal with it -...and if so, I will find it!
OH, and - I don't believe in time.
This is only the 'beginning', and I really don't think I can explain the details of what I am about, here and just like that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately, at present I do not have the space to host a guest over night.
But I have met wonderful people all over the world, from Haiti to Iceland, and Morocco to Australia... who have been kind enough to put up with me. Grateful to past and future ;) hosts,
I am however always willing to meet up and put in spare time to help out whenever I'm around for long enough to do so,
THis way or that, I look forward to meeting you. :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have previously surfed on wind and waves and now getting the hang of the couches too... unfortunately I currently am in no position to host.
Interests
Land & People (ahlan wa sahlan)
I am very frustrated at times, when confronted with the limitations of capitalism, especially when travelling nowadays, but just off the beaten track there is still no better joy than to indulge in cultures and make sense of their particularities. Not because it entertains or distracts me, but because from everything I see, I try to learn and understand a little more about the bigger picture.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love live music.
And if it is live, I listen to almost anything.
Out of all the 'canned' music available I am not picky. As long as it is metal.
Books I've read a few, but admittedly for a few years now they have all been professional essays and studies related to work. Some of them were quite good, but- as far as entertainment goes, I enjoy to read anything that manages to stick out. From Terry Pratchett, to Haruki Murakami.
As for Movies, I am a fool for black&whites. Otherwise I am an outspoken fan of Emir Kusturica, Aki Kaurismäki, Tarkovski - that kind of stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This may sound pathetic to some, but although I have been to many amazing places, witnessed amazing situations and scenes (not the northern lights yet though...), and met amazing people, what I do is just what I do. Nothing really anything amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
What I know is what I have learned? Maybe not quite. I think we all know a lot more than we've been told and been through. A sort of intrinsic wisdom.
But in the real world, I am an architect with a knack for eco/sustainable architecture - particularily building with straw and earth. This is knowledge I can share.
What I am looking to learn and accomplish for myself is how to live 'easier', less cramped and more natural. There are too many things weighing us down, distracting us from life itself, and I am enjoying finding my way to it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
To be honest, I don't really know. But I am a good listener.
