ABOUT ME
Hey,
hows it going? I am glad you found my profile.
My Name is Simon and I used to live a full-time nomad life. I spent the last years busking, traveling and working around Canada while living out of my van.
In 2018 I went on a trip from Germany to Southeast Asia by land.
All by public transport. Trains, Busses and hitchhiking. I went through Finnland, Russia, Mongolia, China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. It took me 8 months to cover the whole distance of 35000 km.
I once joined a sailing vessel from Malaga to the Canary Islands and was about to cross the Atlantic. Which didnt work out in the end. You see I like out-of-the-box exploring and travelling. :D
I also love writing songs on guitar and piano as a Singer-Songwriter. (https://liketorch.es)
I like the old Woody Guthrie Songs and a lot of traditional American Music. Acoustic music in general.
I used to promote concerts called "the greyskysessions" in my hometown back in Germany. We invited Songwriters from all over the world to play intimate gigs and house concerts. Playing music for and with other people is one of the greatest thing on earth.
So I am a musician and I like to do sports so as running. AND NATURE. I do love Nature. How could you not. Its all we have, right?
I am a trained Social worker and used to work with refugees, orphans. Which was a great experience too!
I feel like making plans is overrated nowadays. Its good to have a structure or an idea but if you want to travel on long term you have to go with the flow. And most important is to find your flow. I also got pretty interested in Meditation and Awareness. Psychology in general. I think it can be a good relief if we tend to suffer from time to time and can help us to calm. It definitely helps to become more aware of our selves and our patterns. I also started with Thai Chi lately.
Anyway I like having a good company. I like to meet new people from different cultures and learn about their lifes, perceptions and struggles. Simply sharing stories and experiences. Its the best way to overcome a cultural gap. I also need a decent amount of lonetime to recharge my social batteries after that and I am a slow walker.
Id be definitely happy to meet you!
Thanks for reading all of this!
It is much appreciated!
Simon
