ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Lauren. I've never been very good at describing myself. I like to spend as much time as possible with my friends and family. I would much rather be outside than in. I very much enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, etc. I enjoy good company, good beer, and good experiences (especially when combined). My merits are: I am kind, I am knowledgeable, I am easy-going, and I love meeting new people and making new friends. My vices are: coffee, terrible B horror movies, and the occasional overwhelming need to just up and leave town for a few days. I'm currently living in Scottsdale, AZ but because of work that could change anytime.

I've hosted a few people and been hosted by a few and have had a blast doing so. I would love to continue doing so whenever I have the chance.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My CS experiences so far have been absolutely wonderful. I've enjoyed the company of everyone I have either hosted or stayed with. I can't wait to get some more CS experiences under my belt.

Interests

Reading, writing, traveling, meeting new people, listening to music, finding new music to listen to, going to shows, stargazing, picnics, photography, hiking, canoeing, camping, swimming, drinking, drinking coffee, playing cards, Scrabble, and Boggle.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can enjoy just about any movie. My top three favorites are Boondock Saints, Blues Brothers, and Casablanca. I listen to a lot of blues and a lot of classic rock (The Allman Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Heartsfield), but I can and do enjoy nearly all genres of music. As for reading, I will read anything anyone recommends. I very much enjoy reading all types of books and have yet to find a genre I haven't enjoyed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sitting on the lakeshore back home in Chicago with nine of my closest friends and watching the sun rise over Lake Michigan and turn every building along the lake into walls and reflections of blazing oranges, reds and pinks. And of course, the Perseids.
