About Me

The Couchsurfing Pact: Letā€™s Create Unforgettable Memories!

Hello, adventurous soul! Before we dive into this shared journey of stories, laughter, and couch-sharing, let me lay out a simple pact that ensures a fun, respectful, and meaningful experience for both of us:

0.0. Communication = Respect

If you donā€™t reply to my message, donā€™t be surprised if I leave an honest review about it. And if I fail to reply to you? Feel free to do the same. Mutual respect begins with communication!

1. Always Replyā€”No Ghosting Allowed!

If I send you a request or message, donā€™t vanish into thin air! Even if you canā€™t host, just reply. Bonus points if you make it funā€”tell me youā€™re busy coaching your cat for the astronaut program or preparing for your intergalactic Mars mission. Silence, however, is a no-go.

2. Hosting: A Commitment, Not a Maybe

If your profile says you host, itā€™s more than just a lineā€”itā€™s a promise. Be ready to welcome travelers (as long as youā€™re available and they seem like good company). Keeping your word shows youā€™re a true Couchsurfing spirit.

3. Say ā€œNoā€ Kindly, Not Quietly

Canā€™t host? Thatā€™s perfectly fine! But donā€™t leave people hanging. Send a polite messageā€”even a humorous one like, ā€œSorry, Iā€™m busy teaching my goldfish how to dance.ā€ Itā€™s better than silence and keeps the Couchsurfing vibe alive.

4. No Discrimination, Just Transparency

Couchsurfing isnā€™t a place for unnecessary filters. If you have preferences (like hosting specific genders or conditions), be honest and include them in your profile. Transparency avoids awkward surprises and keeps everyone happy.

Who Am I?

Iā€™m Maherā€”a peaceful soul, a curious traveler, and a passionate storyteller. I believe in the beauty of human connections and the magic of shared experiences. Iā€™m a quiet and calm person who takes joy in listening to others, always eager to learn about their stories, cultures, and perspectives.

My dream is simple yet profound: to wander freely across this beautiful world, collect stories that inspire and teach, and one day proudly call myself a true "storyteller."

What I Offer as a Couchsurfing Host

A Place to Stay:
My familyā€”my wife, our three wonderful kids, and Iā€”are happy to welcome you into our cozy, modest home. Timing matters, but we always try to make room for fellow travelers.

Kitchen Access:
Feel free to use our kitchen to prepare meals. If youā€™re up for it, weā€™d love to taste something from your culture!

Local Tips and Hidden Gems:
I can share insights on the best places to visit, from famous landmarks to hidden treasures only locals know about.

Guided Adventures:
If my schedule allows, Iā€™d be delighted to take you on a tour through the stunning Tunisian countryside.

About My Home

Location: Just 10 minutes from the city center and very close to the metro station.

Neighborhood: Safe, friendly, and welcomingā€”youā€™ll feel right at home.

Why I Do This

For me, Couchsurfing is more than just offering a couchā€”itā€™s about creating connections, exchanging cultures, and sharing moments that turn into lifelong memories.

If youā€™d like to connect or know more, feel free to reach out via WhatsApp: +21653535240.

My philosophy

Live today!
Take a risk today!
Do it today!
Do not let yourself die slowly,
Do not deprive yourself of being happy!

Why Iā€™m on Couchsurfing

"I'm here on Couchsurfing because life is full of stories waiting to be shared, places worth discovering, and friends I havenā€™t met yet. I believe the best way to travel is by sharing experiences and those small, memorable moments that make every journey unique. If you're looking for someone who enjoys meaningful conversations and believes laughter is a universal language, that's exactly why I'm here!"

Interests

The Trans-Siberian Railway journey is one of the greatest adventures one can experience, and it is my dream to make it a reality. Imagine departing from Moscow, traveling through vast taiga forests, crossing icy rivers, and stopping in mysterious cities rich with history and diverse cultures until finally reaching Vladivostok after seven days of traversing time and nature. I would sit by the window, watching breathtaking landscapes unfold before me, exchanging stories with travelers from around the world. Most importantly, I hope to have good companyā€”people who share my passion for discovery and adventure, with whom I can laugh, share moments of wonder, and create unforgettable memories. It would be a journey of a lifetime, filled with stories and experiences that will last forever.

One Amazing Thing Iā€™ve Done

1320 Kilometers, 43 Hours, and an Endless Adventure!

Picture this: an epic train journey starting from Tunis, passing through Annaba and Algiers, and finally reaching Oranā€”covering a staggering 1320 kilometers of stunning landscapes, diverse faces, and countless untold stories. On the way there, I took my time, spending a night in each city, savoring every stop like a connoisseur piecing together a masterpiece.

The return trip, however? Oh, that was an entirely different ballgame! 43 hours of nonstop train travel, with just an hour at each city to switch trains. It all began with a slightly dramatic train breakdown in Oran, leaving me racing against time to catch the Algiers trainā€”making it with just 10 minutes to spare! But as they say, good stories start with a bit of chaos, and this one was no exception.

The Algiers train turned out to be the highlight of the journey, thanks to the incredible company I found on board. Conversations flowed effortlessly, laughter echoed through the cabin, and suddenly, the long hours didnā€™t seem so daunting. It felt like traveling with old friends, even though we had just met.

And then came the final leg: the Tunis train. There, I crossed paths with a group of Mauritanian friends, and let me tell you, the stories we shared couldā€™ve filled an entire book. We talked about everything from culture to dreams, all while the train chugged along, proving that travel isnā€™t just about the destinationā€”itā€™s about the connections you make along the way.

This journey was a whirlwind of challenges, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Iā€™m already planning to do it all over againā€”and maybe even push the boundaries a little further next time. After all, isnā€™t that what travel is all about? The chaos, the adventure, and the stories that live on long after the journey ends?
