About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail better.
ABOUT ME
I am a curious and inquisitive person who have travelled and met enough people to know that I know very little.
I never understood the reason for social, age, gender or other bounderies. I couldn't care less if you are young, old, gay, straight or into unicorns. Just be yourself.
I am big on justice, education and big on health. I have worked with it all.
I teach yoga and work as a consultant teaching Swedish to immigrants. Right now I am also part of a project for the International Scout Movement, hired as a non violence trainer. My working schedule is flexible. I often work Thursdays/Fridays from home and a few hours in the evening but I like to to host when it is possible!
I live with my partner Anders and Mumrik the 🐱 ❤️
I have worked for a number of I/NGOs and done some Tsunami relief volunteering in Ofunato, Japan and Pisco, Peru as well as worked with security and protection in Nepal and the Middle East.
All in the name of hands on solidarity and peace.
I have met my share of conflict victims, seen injustice and consequences of conflict and war but also encountered real compassion, love and pure bravery in action.
This means that I have very little time for things that I don't find authentic or real. We may not agree but I will always respect you and great you out. If life has taught me anything it’s that it’s good to listen to people outside your inner circle ⭕️
PHILOSOPHY
Try harder or give up.
Life is too random to be random.
Things are hardly ever what they seem.
--------------------------------------------
I generally feel the world become a little less cold and a whole lot more interesting when we help each other. In practice this means that I try to cause as little pain to living beings as possible and am a vegan since a good long while.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am good networker! Enjoy helping out where I can.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have met some amazing people through CS and will keep receiving people in my home as well as surf myself.
Interests
I work, travel, talk to anyone, read, write and carry stories around the globe, linking people and places for my own pleasure and out of a desire to make the world a more interesting and less place.
I enjoy inspiring people by doing the unexpected.
I have a pagan-like active spiritual practice, enjoy being out on the woods by myself.
I am equally interested in what comes out of peoples minds in terms of social constructs, political ideas and manifestations to novel inventions, alternative communities, vegan ISM, non violence, permaculture, natural living, ... My life would seem poor without my bike, horseback riding, climbing(not enough these days), yoga, work out and of course long leasurely cook outs with with friends often ending in discussion how to make this world a better and more coherent place.

Music, Movies, and Books
I pretty much always read, right now books about non violence and Stephen Levine. I always get a kick out of Ryszard Kapuścińskis books and enjoy most kinds of personal stories.
I like South Korean movies, sometimes sliding into Hong Kong(China) and Japan. But watching films are often just good times. Period.
I have a pretty eclectic(if 'old') taste in music - I do enjoy modern folk singers and Mumford & Sons but Juanes, Kings of Leon, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Brad Paisley, Snatam Kaur, Eva Cassidy and Chopin work to....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am super impressed byt the non violent resistance movements NOVA in the refugee camp in West Sahara as well as in Gangjeong village on Jeju island in South Korea. Amazing people whom I have had the opportunity to visit and work with.
I was also impressed by the enthusiasm of the relief workers/volunteers in Japan. Digging ditches and cleaning up fish factories for free takes a certain kind of character.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have lived on a small farm and learnt what having responsibility over land means and I love it. Today I live in my father's old house and I learn things every day. I have about 2000 things on my list over things to learn such as how to grow potatoes, how to protect the marigolds from the snails, be a better rider(I use to have a pony), build a stone herb garden...
I teach yoga. I am a qualified massage therapist. I am also interested in energy/esoteric body work.
I keep coming back to a buddhist meditation practice. Usually with the zen sangha with a few Vipassana retreats thrown in. I am not a buddhist but the structure and teachings make a lot of sense.
I dabble as a vegan chef and sometimes work at retreats and workshops. I am an inventive vegan chef and I always make plant based food.
