About Me

CURRENT MISSION

BoB: "To see the entire world and meet everyone along the way."

OK, fellow CS'ers, for ease of communication, and coordination, my cell 541-373-1266...

ABOUT ME

BoB is an ultra friendly, outgoing, type A personality guy that loves traveling and meeting people. I am at home in a room full of strangers. I AM REALLY EASY TO HOST because all I need is ENOUGH FLOOR SPACE TO THROW DOWN MY SLEEPING BAG. I PREFER this to couches because when I'm not couchsurfing, I'm camping, and prefer a hard surface. I have a mini grocery store in the back of my car, and am on a very strict diet, since various foods are actually life threatening for us to eat (GMO's, etc.)

PHILOSOPHY

BoB: "God is in control, no longer me."
"Everyone we meet is by design and we hope to learn something from everyone and reciprocate with them."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

BoB:UPDATE: ON VACATION IN HI. BACK BEG. JULY 2019. THAN, WELCOME, COUCHSURFERS!!!

Last Winter I moved to Key West, FL., accepted Tennis Coaching position High School boys and girls Tennis teams. Now that I'm back, you can sleep on my comfy sofa or there's a regular bed in front fully windowed enclosed bedroom.

Retired at 49, from Business Consulting. Re-retired in 2012, and moved to the lovely Oregon Coast in mid-Feb. Now that I'm more off the road, rather than on, I would like to pay back the awesome Couchsurfing community by offering my place to responsible members.

About CS'g at my place: If you'd like to camp on the lovely, wooded, and quiet 2 acres, that's fine. I am in the constant process of remodeling my house(s), so if clutter and remodeling bother you, kindly do not request to stay, and than complain later, as some have done. Otherwise, welcome to Brookings, the Jewel of the Southern OR. Pacific Coast!!!

BoB: By bringing the obscure non-touristy places in the USA to people that can't / haven't seen or experienced them for themselves. I've got lots of interesting stories and pictures from around the country that I've been compiling for over 15+ years.

NOTE: To all you friendly people who've been interested in meeting or hosting me, but haven't gotten a response, please don't hesitate to call/text me 541-373-1266 (Bob's cell) because reception is sporadic.- Thanks

Music, Movies, and Books

BoB: Books: autobiographies of interesting people. Just finished: "Orr", by Bobby Orr, perhaps the greatest hockey defenseman ever.

Music: BIG Hadyn fan. Mozart, Teleman. Still partial to some of the classic Jazz masters.

Recently spend a lot of time on YouTube learning about a myriad of subjects; many of which are listed below.

My favorite Book is the Bible (King James bible). There's a world full of wisdom in there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen all 3 rims of the Grand Canyon, been to Yellowstone Park 27 times, and never did live close by.
I've been to all 50 states as of 2009 even have gone to Alaska for a month! Been to 4 islands of Hawaii.

I've met Diana Krall twice.

Traveled 87000 miles in one year all in the US, all by car. Drove from OR. Coast to FL. in 3 days!

I have witnessed the US Olympic Ski Jumping Team at Lake Placid LIVE with no one else around. SWOOOOOSCH!

I have hit close to 60mph on a snowboard; what a RUSH!

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy and can speak intelligently on a myriad of subjects; from day to day topics to survival skills, the Bible and lots in-between. I am always looking to learn from those around me and am very concerned about my fellow human beings.

I know how to teach about and/or appraise coin collections. AASI member *can teach snowboarding*.
