I prefer meeting people in real life to checking out profiles online because I feel that life is too precious and short enough as it is to spend too much time in front of a computer (plus, I do that for a living a lot anyway). And since I prefer living and experiencing the real thing I try to devote more time to that than to letting people know where I'm planning to go next, for example.
