I have lived primarily in Michigan, north of the metro Detroit area in the suburbs and countryside. I have traveled to 22 states and two countries. I love adventure, learning and people. I enjoy community, music, hiking, yoga, jewelry making and art, animals, rock hunting, travel, reading, writing, spirituality and adventure. I previously had a number of corporate jobs but after 20 years took the leap of faith to leave and become my own boss. One of the things I am currently focusing on is travel .

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
The thing I love most about travel is meeting people and learning about local culture. I am adventurous, curious and enjoy trying new things. I have always enjoyed alternative types of lodging, including Bed and Breakfasts and Airbnb, along with others. Couch surfing is an extension of that and I look forward to making new friends and exploring new places. Sharing meals, knowledge, talents, and space is something people have done for centuries and couch surfing offers the opportunity to enter into a positive and mutual agreement organically.
Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music is very eclectic, and includes traditional music such as Irish, Native American, African drumming, Aboriginal, and South American. I also like alternative music, disco, spiritual, relaxation music, bluegrass, classical, blues, folk, gospel, rock, dance, electronica, jazz, pop. reggae, salsa and world music. My favorite songs frequently change but currently I am enjoying work by Bonobo, Solas, Tez Cadey, Byron Metcalf, and Robbie Robertson. I enjoy Doctor Who, Battle Star Galactica, Star Wars, Star Trek, Parks and Recreation, Third Rock From The Sun, The Detectorists, Stacey and Gavin, Torchwood, Pride and Prejudice, Buck, and ANY movies featuring a horse theme. I don't watch much television, though. My taste in books leans towards spiritual lately though I read in all categories. I also enjoy books about stones and crystals, mythology, ancient history, pre history, culture, outside of the box business, cooking, health, horses, energy work, yoga, chakras, grant writing, community, event planning, writing, editing, poetry, and art. I also like books like The 4-Hour Workweek, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and books that are helpful references. I am always reading at least one book, sometimes two at a time (one fiction, one non-fiction).
