About Me

Grew up on a tiny island in Greece called Patmos, moved to the Netherlands in 2010, but soon started travelling and volunteering and since 2014 I haven't been living in one country for more than a couple of months.
Big animal lover!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe being able to travel to places while getting to know new people and share experiences so easily is amazing! And I definitely want to experience it to the fullest. I really hope soon enough I'll be able to host too, wherever I'll be!

Interests

I love nature, having long talks/philosophising, eating, travelling, watching movies, reading books, taking pictures, eating, playing squash, food, drawing, eating, listening to and exploring new music, and eating food.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music taste is very varied; ranging from classical to blues, hip hop and electronic. I love cinema, directors like Martin McDonagh, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson. From books I like classics like Catcher in the Rye, Animal Farm, The Plague by Albert Camus, satiric books like those by David Sedaris, but what I really love is Greek literature, mostly novels written by Menelaos Lountemis.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked with my sister from The Hague (NL), to Athens (GR) three times. First time took 2 days, second time took 4 days (we were really lucky) and third time 3.
Cooked 10,000 meals per day for about a month for refugees at the Greek/Macedonian border in March-April and slowly went down to 5,000 per day by June.
Drank smuggled vodka out of self-made cups while talking about politics on a cliff in Kurdish Iran with Kurdish communists with a view of a lake in Iraq.
Saved and raised a baby sparrow until her release back in the 'wild' one month later!
Raised two orphaned baby bears and a baby deer in the north of Greece to be released back into the wild.
Took care of more than 24 dogs (mainly Greek shepherd dogs) on a daily basis for more than six months.
