Hello world!!

It is my goal in life to travel to as many places in the world that I can, and meet incredible people along the way! I love making connections with new friends from all over the globe as it makes me feel as though there is a little piece of me always abroad.

After graduating college (UCLA) I left my job to travel the world for a year and it is the best thing I have ever done for myself! I have many more trips planned and I will never stop exploring. I have taken up photography as a true passion of mine, especially on my travels. I particularly love landscape photography! Follow my travels on Insta: @sophiakicko

I choose my destinations based off of the natural landscape, food culture, the people, and when I find cheap flights from Scott's Cheap flights!! I love to be spontaneous and therefore I might need some help finding housing along my journey!

You will find me to be very polite and quiet as your guest. But with that being said, I LOVE long conversations and I would be happy to hear your stories and would love to share mine. Currently I live in Rockridge, Oakland in a beautiful house owned my my sister and her and her husband's friends! It is a community house with guests always coming through. I loooove this living situation because of the social aspect of it and getting to always be a part of lovely dinner conversation! My role in this house is to take care of two baby twins (now 1 year) who belong to my housemates, and it is SUCH a joy. I have worked with kids for many years and this is now my specialty:) So if you have kids I can't wait to meet them:)

Wayyyy to many favorite music choices, I can never answer that question because it totally depends the mood. I have a very wide variety of music I enjoy listening to. To name a few favorites, Little Dragon, Tame Impala, Fleet Foxes, Sylvan Esso, Alt J, Disclosure, Sublime, Frank Ocean, London Grammar, Mac DeMarco, Purity Ring, Rufus Du Sol, Santigold, 311, Logic , James Taylor, Jack Johnson and soooo much more. I also love classical music, meditation music, love me some Enya and i'll often have Nat King Cole or Ella Fitzgerald playing in the background.

Autobiography of a Yogi is one of my favorite books, but I love reading in general. I typically like to read non-fiction!

I have been to the base of Everest, seen the northern lights of Tromso, snorkeled in the islands of Coron, explored the temples of bagan, watched the sun rise over the taj Mahal, crossed paths with wild monkeys in Lombok, eaten the best pizza in the world (Naples), traveled by train throughout Switzerland, and soooooo much more!

I can share stories, advice and tips from my travels and what life is like living in California! I also love to cook and bake :) My hobby is photography so if you need any photography taken for you or your business or anything you can think of, make use of me! I can babysit for a date night:) Also, I loooove to organize so that might be something of value in exchange for a place to sleep!
