About Me
Hello!
My name is Sophie Diop. I studied in the scientist section during high school, then I had a landscape designer diploma last year. I am now an au pair in Auckland in New Zealand, so I'm taking care of four sweet little boys. I started traveling because I want to see how the world is, since I'm very curious. I want to meet people, discover new cultures, and just enjoy my life! I am open minded since I'm from two really different cultures and I already travelled a lot (to Senegal, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Crete, New Zealand).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I decided to create an account on couchsurfing because I'm going to Japan on August, since it's a country I've always wanted to discover! I'm staying one month with a host family in Sapporo and then I'm planning to visit some other cities with a friend. Couchsurfing is particularly attractive to me because I want to meet people, experience the japanese lifestyle (that you can't know while staying in a hotel), learn as much japanese language as I can, and make friends. Furthermore, it's a cheap way to travel and it's so great to share with the host! If I have a great experience, maybe I could host when I go back to France!
Interests
- i love traveling
- doing crafts

Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy reggae music and old school artists like Stevie Wonder, Bonney M, Earth Wind and Fire...
I don't have a particular kind of movies but I really love the ones from Myasaki.
I'm more into mangas than novels or other kind of book.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two months ago I traveled around the South Island of New Zealand in a campervan with friends for two weeks. It was one of the most amazing experiences I had in my life! The landscapes were so amazing, it was like a dream, and I will never forget the people we met.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to share my culture with my host and learn about their own one. Furthermore, I'm not against learning new languages, which would be great. When I go back to France, I could think about being an host too, if I have good experiences with couchsurfing during my traveling.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I truly believe that we can share a lot with my hosts. In fact, I can share my traveling experience, all the knowledge I developed from it. I can help with the cooking and the housework too.
