About Me

Hi! I'm Sophie. I come from an almost-entirely uninhabitable desert island on the arse-end of the world called Australia. I'm a happy vegan and love sharing that lifestyle and food with people. I can show you a whole world you didn't know existed, including vegan ramen, fakeon, big moc’s, scrambled tofu, macadamia milk, soysauge, beet balls, veganaise, and much much more.

I've been an international DJ for the last 10 years, DJing in clubs in Sydney, New York and London. I recently became an entrepreneur and own an online business now selling vegan beauty products, and absolutely love it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been on Couchsurfing for about 5 years now, I have no intention of using your pad just for a free night's stay and will not expect you to be a hotel, a maid service, a tour guide or anything else of the sort. I'm here for the classic experience - to be able to gain a new friend in a completely new country and share cultural experiences with them. I'm clean and respectful. I love love love meeting new people and am up for anything you can throw at me. I'm fun and spontaneous and will always be up for a new adventure with you. My philosophy in life is that strangers are just friends you haven't met yet!

Interests

Anything music, spirituality, meditation, unconventional haircuts, tattoos on other people, freestyle rap, out of body experiences, astro travelling, day drinking, beaches, tiny doggos, pot belly piggies, record scratching, minimalism, breaking out of the rat race and living unconventionally.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to anything and everything, except for that surface-level soulless hip hop on the radio now with the overdone autotune urgghhhh KMN it's so bad.
I love anything else! Gimme Gene McDaniels, Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Jane XO, love love love chill trap, electropop, future bass.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo backpacked on a three month trip from LA to NY.

Gotten lost in the Australian Outback.

DJ'd in Sydney, London & New York.

Thwarted the NYPD by jumping over the barrier at Pride Festival and joining the rainbow parade.

Drank a fully-legal magic mushroom milkshake in Bali and danced along with the tangoing trees.

Scuba dived in the Great Barrier Reef and swam straight into a school of stinging Blue Bottles.

Shot a gun at a poster of Osama Bin Laden in New York.

Drove an electric scooter around The Eiffel Tower.

Ate an alligator burger in New Orleans.

Rode a camel in the Australian desert.

Surfed down a sand dune.

Teach, Learn, Share

I make YouTube videos! They are silly skits where I put on wigs and pretend to be different characters.
