About Me

Urgent: I'm currently looking for a host in Bordeaux on August 26-27.

I'm Sophie, 25 and a Danish/French photojournalist based in Paris.

I'm a person with a big curiosity, one of the reasons why I'm on Couchsurfing. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and places in their lives and I believe that everyone has something important to share.
I love traveling, whether it's for a photo project or just because I can't stop myself from exploring new places.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to host at the moment, as my housing situation is a bit complicated, but I'd be happy to share some insights about Paris, Copenhagen or Aarhus.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To get to know locals when I travel. Couchsurfing is much more giving than living in a hotel, cause you get to really immerse into daily life. I've had great experience with Couchsurfing and always met people, who could teach me something new. I love the idea of a community that's all about sharing and giving and I hope that I can contribute to the CS society in a positive way.

Interests

Photography is by far my biggest interest and I can spend hours looking at and talking about photos.
I do have other interests though! I enjoy music (guilty pleasure: musicals), art, literature, swimming, dining and lots of other things.
I spend way to much money on sushi and books and I like traveling by train.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: An impossible choice. I like so many different genres and artists.

Books: It changes all the time, but I'm currently working my way through everything written by George Orwell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spontaneously moved from Spain to Paris, with no money, no job and no place to stay. It worked out great and I ended up staying for more than a year. Now I can't wait to move back (this time I might plan it a little better)

I wrote this two years ago, and while I did move back, I did not plan it much better this time - spontaneous decisions make for great adventures, they say

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you photography, Danish, French, sheet music, how to make a perfect vinaigrette - maybe there's more I can teach you, that I don't know about yet.

I love to learn, especially about the history and culture of the place that I'm visiting. I also really want to learn Spanish and how to make a really good omelette.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A positive spirit :) I'm quite active when I travel and what to experience a lot - I would love if a host could show me around or just spend some time talking. I can cook some nice and simple pescatarian meals and share my knowledge on whatever random subject we're discussing.
