About Me
Coronavirus Update...we’ll it looks like my plan to see the world is on hold. I have enjoyed hosting and still plan to host and travel In the future, however lockdown means staying home atm.
ABOUT ME
I love to travel, explore and meet new people, but so far, haven't done a real lot. But, that's about to change! Hence the reason for joining Couch Surfing. World, watch out, here I come...
PHILOSOPHY
I enjoy and respect life, people, and everything about mother nature. I am a Christian. I am fascinated by science, and wish I had spent more time to make it my career. I like my job, Electrical Technician, because I get to play with high tech equipment and computers. I guess I'm a bit of a geek, hey. I have a strong family and community ethos. I was President of local footy club in 2008, and helped our team win their first Premiership in 29 years.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to travel and meet interesting people, see interesting places. I have enjoyed hosting lots of people from many different countries. Whyalla is a great seaside location. We have a modern, fully integrated steelworks, and a giant cuttlefish breeding ground right on our doorstep, which is unique in the world. Whyalla is at the gateway to the Eyre Peninsula, famous for its fresh seafood and pristine beaches with the Flinders Ranges close by. Whyalla is an ideal stop-over for travellers going from East to West or West to East. It's a long drive across the Nullabor!!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted quite a few people from different countries such as Germany, France, Belgium, England, USA and Taiwan, but yet to couch surf myself. Hoping to do that soon, starting in Australia and venturing overeas as my experience and confidence develops
Interests
Travel, camping and the outback (I have a 4WD Nissan Patrol), beach, rock collecting, astronomy, wines (big bold South Aussie reds from Barossa, Clare, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra) food (I cook a mean weber roast, south aussie seafood such as King George Whiting, Spencer Gulf prawns, oysters, squid etc, and Chinese / Thai stir fry)
Music, Movies, and Books
Comedy, documentaries, anything that makes me laugh or think!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw the birth of my three beautiful children. That is amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn about other cultures, how other people live. I can show travellers the interesting places to see and things to do in Whyalla and nearby region. I enjoy food and wine and love to experiment and learn from others who enjoy cooking, especially different cultures.
